Starbucks has brought out the holiday festive cheer in the form of their new 2022 holiday drinks.
Many of our favorites are on the list this year, including:
- Peppermint Mocha
- Caramel Brulée latte
- Chestnut Praline latte
- Toasted White Chocolate Mocha
- Irish Cream cold brew
- Iced sugar cookie almond milk latte
Here are our picks, plus some hacks to make each one healthier for the New Year!
Peppermint Mocha
This yummy holiday drink was popularized by Starbucks in 2002 and has remained a perennial favorite. Peppermint mocha is usually included on the list of holiday beverages each year. Made with two shots of espresso, four pumps of sweet mocha sauce, steamed milk, four pumps of peppermint syrup, whipped cream, and dark chocolate flakes, it remains popular to this day.
Make it healthier – Ask for less pumps of each flavor and say no to a full whipped cream topping. It will still be sweet and delicious.
Caramel Brulée latte
To create this divine flavor, Starbucks uses espresso, steamed milk and caramel brulée sauce, combined with whipped cream and caramel brulée topping.
Make it healthier – Ask for less pumps of the caramel brulée flavor. Additionally, there is a vanilla syrup without sugar you can ask for. The whipped cream and caramel topping can be modified also!
Chestnut Praline Latte
This sweet latte features espresso, steamed milk and the flavors of caramelized chestnuts and spices topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.
Make it healthier – Ask for less pumps of the flavor. You can add your own spices like cinnamon and reduce the whipped cream with praline crumbs.
We like to settle back in one of the cozy chairs at our favorite Starbucks, drink a Gingerbread latte with sprinkles on top, and read our November book pick, “The Maid” by Nita Prose.
It’s a mystery set in an elegant hotel where a guest is found dead, and the main suspect is a maid who must prove she is innocent.
